Tokai Traditional Series - SG52 - Cherry

In 1982 the western guitar market was shocked into submission. Never before had it seen instruments of such quality from a Japanese builder. Tokai had come to town and had changed the entire perception of the guitar world forever!

Their arrival brought about a knee-jerk reaction from the world’s existing major manufacturers. However by this time, Tokai had firmly established itself as a builder of unquestionable reputation and precision. Unlike many of its competitors, Tokai founded by Tadayouki Adachi inHamamatsu in 1947, still remains a genuine family concern. Now headed by its current President, Shohei Adachi, Tokai still retains the philosophy of absolute commitment to quality. The majority of its current workforce are the same skilled craftsmen who created the now highly collectable eighties classics.

Many well known players have chosen to play Tokai guitars in preference to other premium brands. Tokai’s 1985 guitar catalogue featured Stevie Ray Vaughan on the cover. Stevie is seen on his 1983 album “Texas flood” playing a Tokai “Breezy Sound”. Joe Walsh, Billy Gibbon, Robert Fripp, INXS’s Tim Farris and Stevie Ray Vaughan are just few in a long list of Tokai players.Your Tokai guitar is the result of years of experience and skill handed down through many decades. It has been afforded all of the patience and care it takes to build an instrument of outstanding quality. It truly is special. Take care of your Tokai Guitar, it may stay in your family for generations to come.

The Tokai SG52 is no exception, The quality of the finish through to the sound is simply stunning for this price and would be hard beaten by others.
